Day 1: Arrival and fly to Kisoro
Arrive at Entebbe airport where an Aero link member of staff will assist you with the check-in and transfer to your 07:45am (arrival 08:55am) domestic flight to Kisoro, check-in time is one hour before the flight. Once at Kisoro you will be welcomed by your expert guide who will provide knowledge and assistance throughout your journey.
Transfer to Volcanoes Mount Gahinga Lodge. The lodge is located at the foot of the Virunga Volcanoes and near the entrance to the national park.
Day 2: All day Cultural encounter
The Batwa Heritage Experience offers an interactive tour of the culture and history of one of Africa’s oldest tribes. The tour includes lessons on hunting, gathering, and life in the forest, cooking food, religion, marriage and courtship customs and is fully involved. They also perform their traditional dances at the lodge and a Vocational Centre has been set up to teach them skills and abilities to create a new life for themselves in the village.
Day 3: Hiking the Muhavura Mountain
Hike the Muhavura, Sabinyo or Gahinga volcanoes. Mount Gahinga offers a gentler hike through the bamboo forest on the lower slopes and marshy craters at the peak. Muhavura is the most challenging peak in the park. The hike will take most of the day, but the adventurous will be rewarded with a great sense of accomplishment and spectacular views. Sabinyo is for seasoned hikers, with bamboo ladders and three peaks, reaching the summit gifts the reward of standing on the border of three countries at once.
Day 4: transfer back to Kampala /Entebbe
Transfer from the lodge to the Kisoro airstrip. Fly to Entebbe on the 09:10am flight (arrive 11:25am) and connect with your return flight home.
